
NORTHERN MAINE REGIONAL AIRPORT
AIRPORT PROJECT: Extend, Mark, Light and Sign Taxiway A
Project Description:
The project consists of constructing the extension of Taxiway A from Runway 10-28 to the Runway 1 end (approximately 1,900 feet by 50 feet.) The work includes excavation and embankment for the proposed portion of Taxiway A. The work also includes full depth taxiway pavement construction, consisting of on site sub-base material (obtained from the reclamation of abandoned pavement), crushed aggregate base course and bituminous concrete surface course. The work also includes drainage improvements/modifications, topsoil and seeding, new taxiway edge lighting, signage and pavement markings.

• This project will result in a full length parallel Taxiway to the main Runway (1-19). • Enhancing passenger safety by eliminating the need to back-taxi for departure on RW 1. • Improve drainage as a result of grading and drainage improvements.
Project Schedule:
This project will begin on or about June 15, 2009 and will be completed on or about June 30, 2010.
Project Costs: $2,614,505.49
American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 is funding 100% of the project.
