Weather Considerations
The cold and snow is a fact of life in northern Maine. The airport
maintains a fleet of modern snow removal equipment to keep its runways,
ramps and taxiways open during winter storms. With quality snow
removal equipment, large-scale deicing equipment and a full instrument
landing system available for the main 7440-foot runway, the airport
is rarely closed due to weather conditions.
